About ZEST Writers:
Katlin Smith is a resident of Vancouver, Washington, principal of UrbanWords Group (a PR, writing and public involvement firm in downtown Vancouver), gardener, kayaker and travel addict. She is crazy about the Pacific Northwest and, of course, Southwest Washington, and loves to explore, photograph and write about the area.
Sarah Coomber has been a Southwest Washingtonian since 2005 and does writing/public relations consulting. Her past lives include working as a college English instructor in Spokane, Wash., a reporter in Fargo, N.D., a science writer in Madison, Wis., and an English teacher in Japan. Her current preoccupation is keeping up with her 5-year-old son, but she also squeezes in time to chase the slugs out of her broccoli patch, study the koto (Japanese zither) and work on a book about her Japan-related experiences.
Shawna Burkholder was born and raised in Olympia, Washington before relocating to Vancouver in 1989. Most of her time is spent doing a job she loves; fundraising for worthy local non-profits. Shawna’s free time is spent as an experimental cook, a dark chocolate taste-tester, a card creator, a reluctant marathoner and an accidental gardener. And best of all, she loves to write about these experiences to inspire others to live their lives to the fullest.
